In little more than 2 weeks we will begin again our “Living & Sharing from the Principles” workshop series.  Whether you are currently sharing the principles or living in the simplicity of this wonderful understanding, you will benefit from these workshops.  We started last year after requests from many who were familiar and sharing this truth throughout the Bay Area.  Our desire to meet these requests remains the same in as much as everyone should have an opportunity to spend time with others in an open and engaging forum where conversations flow & many unrecognized answers are revealed.  We offer practitioners who have worked in the field for many years both locally & throughout the World sharing the truth about our natural birth-right to well-being & peace of mind.

A New Me

Slide5

Having written the above poem on newness many weeks ago, Life delivered the opportunity to live out my new paradigms over the last month. My older sister, with whom I bickered for the first 16 years of my life until she left for college, fell in early February, and broke her ankle.

You may remember that I broke my own ankle in 2012, and my immediate flashback was to those who helped me get through the whole healing (and sitting still) experience. I KNEW at a deep place that I was to be one of those people for my sister, and let my nieces know that I was available, all the while praying that they wouldn’t need me until winter had moved out of St. Louis, where she lives.

The call came as March departed, and I boarded my flights ready to be of service. Reflecting, I am amazed that throughout our days together, I was able to remain in a loving and peaceful state of mind. So often, especially in sibling or couple relationships, old memories taint the experience with thoughts like “You always do that” or “It drives me crazy when you…” So often, too, we can get caught up in who we wish people could be, instead of appreciating who they are. To stay present in the day, be of service, and feel contented the entire time was indeed a “new me”! I took many walks, read several novels, and enjoyed visits with our other family members as well. My sister gained in self-sufficiency by the day, and I have returned home knowing all is in place for her continued healing.

There’s an old saying that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But with the understanding of Mind, Thought and Consciousness, we old dogs are certainly free to create new experiences! Woof!

MIND on my mind

104

Yesterday, as we drove through the hills, I was reminded of how many shades of green comprise the Spring hillsides. I reflected on the many species of birds I have learned to identify, and the many other forms life expresses. Isn’t it ironic that the one species that often falls short in my thinking is my own! I don’t rush to judgment when squirrels fight with each other selfishly at my bird feeder. I don’t think twice when I see tiny birds chasing a hawk away from their nest. Even the cowbird, who sneaks her eggs into other birds’ nest to trick them into raising her young, heinous behavior for sure, just fascinates me!

Truly the forms of life that give me thoughts of separateness are the other humans who mistreat their own! Which brings to my magination the dream that someday we could all remember the Truth of Being, that we and the rest of the planet are all just varied expressions of the same life energy, making up with our gift of Thought that we are separate.

Bringing the dream back home, just for one day, I’d like to remember it myself! A lofty goal, but I’ll get there! Maybe today?

Unencumbered Spirit

217.4

Ironically, it was illness that introduced me to my unencumbered spirit. At the worst of my rheumatoid arthritis, with my body hurting everywhere and experiencing the fear of not knowing why I was in so much pain, I met the part of me that is resilient, well and whole. That was in 1996.

Years later, I still have days when I forget. The lure of circumstance can enchant my thinking into believing that IT is the truth.

Yesterday the Bay Area entered pre-storm barometric pressure, and my body reminded me of those early days, when a bad day or even a bad moment could deceive me into thinking it would always be this way, or that it wasn’t possible to be in good spirits when in pain. Fortunately, I am no longer able to fool myself for long.

This morning I’m taking care of my physical needs, curled up on the couch with a comforter and a heating pad, but I’m also laughing at the TV, and sorting through recent photos from hikes I’ve taken, looking for likely contest entries. It’s a very good day!

Singing Our Own Song

402

As you know if we’re friends, I’m an avid birder. This was the week when warm temperatures brought the song sparrows and red-winged blackbirds back to the Bay Area, and walking near any water is accompanied by the enthusiastic singing they produce.

It is important to notice that the song sparrow never tries to sound like the blackbird. They are each singing the song that is innate for them. So much of my life I was trying to blend my song to others, not realizing that I have my own unique gifts to deliver.

I had an amazing session this week with my 3 Principles class, and once again I felt the joy of reminding them of the peace that lies right below the commotion they create, and seeing them shift. I sing my song of Peace. What’s yours?
